How to Build Your Wallchart

Step 1: Pick Your Group Scores

Click any match row and type your predicted score. For example, enter 2-1 if you think the home team wins 2 to 1. The standings table beside each group recalculates after every score you enter. Points work just like the real tournament: 3 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss.

Step 2: Watch the Standings Sort Themselves

Teams rank by points first, then goal difference, then goals scored. If two teams are still tied, the head-to-head result breaks the deadlock. You do not need to sort anything by hand.

Step 3: Knockout Round Unlocks Automatically

Once every group match has a score, the top two teams from each group slide into the Round of 32 bracket. You can accept those auto-picks or click any knockout match to choose a different winner.

Step 4: Print or Export

Hit Print Wallchart for a clean, printer-ready version. Use Export as PNG to get an image you can post on Twitter, Instagram, or in your group chat. The Copy Share Link button encodes your entire bracket into a URL you can send to friends.

Common Bracket Mistakes

  • Picking all favorites. Group stages are where upsets happen. At least one big name usually drops points in the first round. Think about who tends to start slow.
  • Ignoring goal difference. A 1-0 win and a 5-0 win both give 3 points, but the goal difference can decide who advances. Pick realistic scores, not just winners.
  • Forgetting head-to-head. When two teams finish level on points and goal difference, the result between them is the tiebreaker. A draw in that match can send the higher-seeded team home.
  • Leaving too many blanks. The knockout bracket stays locked until every group match has a score. Even a rough guess is better than an empty cell.

How Tiebreakers Work Here

This builder follows the standard FIFA group stage tiebreaker order: (1) total points, (2) goal difference, (3) goals scored, (4) head-to-head result between tied teams. If teams are still level after all four, the builder lists them alphabetically. In the real tournament, FIFA would move to fair play points and then a draw, but that level of detail is hard to predict on a wallchart.

Assumptions and Limitations

This wallchart uses the 2026 World Cup format with 16 groups of 3 teams each (48 group matches) and a 32-team knockout bracket. Extra time and penalties are not modeled in knockout rounds. If a knockout match is level in your picks, you must pick a winner yourself. Your data lives only in your browser. Clear your browser storage and your bracket is gone, so export a JSON backup if you want to be safe.

Questions People Ask

Do I need to create an account?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Your predictions save locally and never leave your device.

Can I update scores after the tournament starts?

Yes. Open the page, change any score, and reprint. Your previous entries stay put until you change them.

What if I only want to fill in some matches?

Leave any match blank. The standings reflect only the matches you scored. Blank matches show as dashes on the printed chart.

Does this work on a phone?

Yes, but the full wallchart is best viewed and printed on a laptop or desktop. Switch your phone to landscape for the widest view.

Can I share my bracket on social media?

Use the Export as PNG button to download an image of your wallchart, then post it anywhere. The Copy Share Link option also gives you a URL with your picks baked in.
